Customer Research & Journey

Interviews and surveys helped us understand our target audience, their event networking strategies, and their pain points. Using insights we gathered from our user research, we storyboarded how our solution could facilitate networking at events.

Competitive Analysis

Our team conducted a competitive analysis for current networking solutions that exist on the market. We wanted to ensure our product had market fit and get inspiration for potential designs.

Initial Sketches

Initial Wireframe

After the initial validation of sketches, we created an interactive wireframe prototype capturing the core functionality of Proxi.

Testing and Customer Validation

Acid Test research revealed that Northeastern teachers and students believe Proxi has the potential to be a beneficial tool for students. Experts in the student experience space enjoyed the concept and highlighted its merit in orientation and first-year spaces. 92.3% of sample size have struggled to make meaningful connections while networking and 97.2% of those surveyed would use Proxi.

  • "If I was working in the department that makes decisions like this – I would say yes”  says Jesse Savage, Academic Technologist

  • "I like it, it's a great idea. I think there's a market for this at Northeastern.”  say Emily Hardman, Assistant Dean of Student Programming & Operations
